I began riding horses at age 8, taking classes at a small, private facility. I fell in love with our neighbor’s Westfalen gelding named Monsoon, and when I was 12, my parents bought him for me. I was able to participate in my first competition under the expert supervision of an event rider.
When I was 15, I was lucky enough to experience steady riding training under Olympic champion Harry Boldt and at 16 I won my first M-level dressage test against professional riders. Today I look back over 40 years of riding experience, having up until a few years ago successfully ridden, placed and won S and St. George tests.
